Mandela Washington Fellowship: A game-changer

  • Jul 7, 2018
  • 1 min read

The six weeks I spent at Wagner College as a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow changed my life.

I was fortunate to return to the bucolic campus in Staten Island, N.Y., to speak to the 2018 Fellows and share with them my successes and accomplishments of the past year.

The Mandela Washington fellowship is all about learning from American teachers, mentors, host families and hub leaders and bringing change to your community and your country.

Since my fellowship, I have multiplied my connections and strengthened my projects., which will allow me to further my work as a consultant for foundations and organizations.

Our generation has an obligation to work on behalf of the next generation and empower them to become global leaders of positive social change.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship gives access to materials, resources, tools and networks to develop skills in order to make our dreams a reality and educate the next generation.

In the pursuit of positive social change, young African leaders across the globe must be united and make Africa prosperous rather than a continent of contradictions.

We are the generation of change.
